updates galore:

1) i just finished my first year of law school. how was it, you ask. well, it was pretty much the hardest thing i've ever had to do my whole life, which is exactly what i expected so, i wasn't disappointed. the disappointment will come when grades do. flashback to a previous entry where i'm talking about how hard the first semester is. second semester was approximately a billion times harder. no joke. but it needs to be said once more, I'm Practically a Lawyer

2) i got a job. i'll be working this summer for the legal aid in chicago. i'm pretty excited. it's only a part time gig, but i'm gonna make them feel like i'm there FULL-time baby. no really, in all seriousness, i'm very excited about this so i hope it goes well. and i'm sure it will as long as i put in the same effort i did throughout my first year of school.

3) i might get another job. you think i'm excited about the legal aid job, that pales in comparison to how much i want this other job. i've applied to work for united airlines customer service. woohoo.

4) now to the most important of the updates: my little shelldace is all grown up and leaving me and the rest of ohio for new york. i'm not gonna lie and say i'm happy for her. totally kidding. i'm very happy for her and i'm happy for me cuz now i get to visit her in ny. best of luck to little shelldace, you can do it all by yo'self.

5) there's too much to say about this one. when i've worked it out i'll let you know. as for right now tho, let's just leave it as is

its official. I'm Engaged to be Wed. glorious isn't it. just thought i'd let the world know since some of yous might not be aware yet (like you david, you're important so you should know AND you're invited to my wedding so you should know that too, i love you and sorry i didn't get to see you over break) -- it happened new year's eve right at the stroke of midnight.... like cinderella except my dream night didn't end at midnight, it started

and now for a round of good news, bad news

good news: my ring is beautiful
bad news: my finger is too fat so it doesn't fit

bad news: the ring can't be resized to fit my sausage finger
good news: the ring was just a stand in for my real ring anyway so this just means i'll be getting that sooner than we thought

good news: i've told my family and most of them are happy for me
bad news: notice i said "most"

updates will come in due time. as of right now this is all i have. its pretty big news tho so i'll give you all time to soak it in. pretty sweet huh.

a merry christmas indeed...

i've been at my parent's house for a few days now. been waking up around noon-ish only to stumble downstairs to eat lunch with whoever. then watching quality tv with my mom (maury and the likes) as we clean up whats left of the food (usually dirty dishes cuz big girls' gotta eat). then mom goes off to bed and i watch more tv on my own. until soon enough its time for dinner and i feed once more. i have one word for all of it. heaven

normally i probably would be running around town and such but sadly there was a hit and run in front of my house that badly damaged my mom's car so we're kinda stranded (no one got hurt and as a bonus i got to use my incredible legal skills to convince a fellow officer of the law to file a report- as i've been saying since the end of finals, I'M PRACTICALLY A LAWYER). --- anyhow, it's all good. home wouldn't feel like home if i didnt sit around like a bum for a while. plus there's all the delicious food that needs eating. i can't very well do that and go out too now can i. or can i?....

hope all is well with everyone else. i'll be back in oh-io for new year's festivities then i'll have a couple more weeks to kill so i expect to be on tour soon enough. check your local listings to see if i'll be visiting your town.

it is reading week = studying for my first law school finals = hell

but. in the midst of painfully reminding myself of tortfeasors, duties, and wrongful deaths, i got a cute little message from my much loved (but sadly equally neglected) shelldace. apparently being a good lay equals 5 eprops which i happily accept. thanks shelldace. you light up my life (but not in the same way that jesus does to that chick who wrote that song, its much dirtier and unwholesome, like the light is from the fire in my crotch that you ignite- which if this really happened, according to the law of torts, no one would have an afirmative duty to rescue me from, i would just stand there with a fire in my pants while people stand idly by...)
